How to tell the quality of marble?

1. Look at the pattern and color

Pattern tones: Marble slabs are colorful, diverse in tones, and have different patterns. This is where the precious charm of marble slabs lies. Basically the same color tone, small color difference, and beautiful patterns are the specific manifestations of good varieties, otherwise it will seriously affect the decorative effect. You can place the selected slabs and the same batch of other marble slabs on the ground at the same time under sufficient light, and stand at a distance of 1.5m from them to observe carefully. It is required that the pattern and tone of the same batch of marble plates should be basically harmonious.

2. Surface gloss

The glossiness of the marble slab surface will greatly affect the decorative effect. Generally speaking, the polished surface of high-quality marble slabs should have mirror-like luster, which can clearly reflect the scenery. However, due to the different chemical composition of marbles of different qualities, even products of the same grade have great differences in gloss. Of course, the surface gloss of the same material and different grades will also have a certain difference. In addition, the strength and water absorption of marble slabs are also important indicators for evaluating marble quality.

3. Check for surface defects

Different grades of marble slabs have different appearances. Because marble is naturally formed, defects are inevitable. At the same time, the pros and cons of processing equipment and measuring tools are also the cause of sheet defects. Some boards are not full (warped or dented), have defects (cracks, blisters, stains, etc.), and have different board specifications (such as missing edges and corners, and irregular board). Under the condition of sufficient light, place the plate on the ground, stand at a distance of 1m from the marble plate, and observe it. If there is no defect, it is considered to be no defect; observe whether the plate is warped; whether there are cracks, sand holes, and abnormalities on the plate surface Color spots, stains and depressions exist; whether there are missing edges or corners on the front of the board. If there are those few defects but do not affect the use, and there is only one part on the front of the plate that is not more than 8mm in length and not more than 3mm in width, there is no edge or the length and width are not more than 3mm and the corners are not more than 3mm.
