Cleaning and coloring of diseased stone

If you want to make the decorative stone always bright and beautiful, the effective method is to carry out the pre-protection treatment before the construction, installation or use of the stone to prevent problems. However, some stone materials are often not paid enough attention during the installation and construction. Once the installation and construction are completed, stone diseases will follow one after another, mainly manifested as cement residue, white bloom, rust yellow, water spots, oil stains, cracks, and chalking. And fade etc. Therefore, the treatment and renovation of diseased stone is also essential. Below we will combine specific symptoms to explain:

    1. Baihua and cement residue

We often see some white substances hanging out from the surface or cracks of the stone. This is commonly known as "Bai Hua". The cause of the formation of Bai Hua is the soluble matter in the cement mortar during wet construction. The white crystals formed by combining with the carbon dioxide in the air, or the acid rainwater dissolves the cement and seeps out to the stone surface, and recrystallizes as the rainwater evaporates. In addition, some rough or even smooth stone materials are not removed in time because the cement mortar contaminates the stone surface during wet installation. After the mortar is completely hardened, it will remain on the stone surface permanently, which seriously affects the decorative effect of the stone. Some tiles, such as non-slip floor tiles and polished tiles, also have the problem of being contaminated by cement residues. For thin-layer cement and early Baihua, you can directly use Baihua cleaning agent Q-215B or powerful cleaning agent Q-305C for cleaning. For a large amount of accumulated cement residue and old thick layer Baihua, in order to save cleaning costs, You can use a tool to remove it first, and then use a cleaning agent to clean it, or alternate removal and cleaning to achieve a satisfactory removal effect.

    2. Rust spots

The causes of rust spots can generally be divided into two categories: The first category is the iron contained in the stone itself. Each kind of stone itself contains iron to varying degrees. When rainwater comes into contact with the iron in the stone, rust spots will slowly form. The second category is external iron pollution, such as steel grit remaining during processing, iron tools and scaffolding during installation and construction, metal decorations, and improper cleaning materials or improper use of cleaning materials after installation and construction. Cleaning methods, etc. It is worth noting that some people like to use ordinary hydrochloric acid, oxalic acid and other acidic substances to clean the stone, but they often backfire, because they can only temporarily dissolve the rust spots, which can not be completely removed, and will accelerate the iron rust inside the stone. The rust spots become more serious. Originally, they are only partial rust spots. At this time, they may spread over the entire surface of the stone, which increases the difficulty of cleaning. Therefore, for stone rust spots, it is necessary to use special stone rust remover to clean, such as Q-330X type stone rust remover and Q-301M type marble rust remover, which can completely remove the rust on the surface and deep layers of the stone. , And convert it into a stable colorless substance, which overcomes the defect that ordinary rust cleaning agents can only remove the surface rust spots of the stone, and the internal rust will contaminate the surface of the stone again over time. Q-330X type stone rust remover is suitable for cleaning and removing rust of granite. For soft stone such as marble, Q-301M type marble rust remover can be used, which can effectively remove the rust yellow pollution of soft stone such as marble. It is transformed into a stable colorless substance without affecting the surface gloss of the stone.

    3. Water spots

Wet-installed stone will not dry for a long time, and there will always be traces of moisture on the surface, which is commonly known as water spot. The reasons for the formation of water spots and their components are very complicated. The reasons for the formation of water spots are also different for stone under different environments. Some are caused by environmental pollution and the local color of the stone is darkened, and some are caused by cement mortar, white flowers, acid rain, etc. The effect of factors forms a hygroscopic substance in the pores of the stone. In foreign countries, water spots are called cancers of stone. It can be said that it is very difficult to completely remove water spots. The best way is to prevent it, that is, use a protective agent to protect the stone, especially the bottom surface of the stone, before installation. Protection. For stone that has water spots, you can use Q-311D stone multi-functional cleaning agent and Q-305C stone strong cleaning agent or Q-215B stone whitewashing agent to clean, which can greatly reduce or even eradicate water spots and make the stone The surface color is basically the same.

    4. Pigment pollution

For example, ink, tea juice, coffee solution, animal excrement, biological decay liquid, and the reproduction of microorganisms may cause stains on the stone. In addition, the straw ropes and cartons used to pack the stone may also be contaminated when wet or wet. Stone. Pigment contamination is difficult to remove with general cleaning agents, only professional scavengers, such as Q-312S stone pigment scavenger, etc.

    5. Oil stains and wax layer

Stone oil stains are caused by the following reasons: the leakage and diffusion of grease on the utensils, such as engine oil, lubricating oil, etc.; the pollution of edible oil; the improper use of stone wax and protective oil used in the stone maintenance process may cause spots. The oil spots on the stone have the ability to automatically absorb and dissolve dust, thus forming oil spots. Solvent-based cleaning agents are difficult to completely remove oil stains, but can only diffuse or migrate oil stains. To remove oil stains, it is necessary to use a cleaning agent containing specific surfactants to convert the oil stains into water-soluble substances, and then rinse with water to completely remove them. For example, Q-311D stone multifunctional cleaning agent is ideal for removing various oil stains. .

    6. Cracks and frost damage

The cracks formed when magma solidifies into rock are called congenital cracks. Acquired cracks are mainly caused by the following reasons: one is caused by improper mining methods; the other is that the expansion pressure generated by the crystallization or hydration expansion of various salts (such as white flowers, water spots, etc.) causes the stone to burst; the stone absorbs water Ice expansion is another important cause of cracks. The treatment method is to find out the cause of the cracks and cure them first, and then repair them with resin, but it is difficult to achieve the desired effect.

    7. Powdering

The crystallization or hydration expansion of various salts and the repeated swelling of stone by water absorption and freezing have caused the micropores of the stone to expand and crack gradually, and the cracks gradually increased, and finally the stone surface appeared powdered. The best way to control stone powdering is to polish the stone again. However, if the cause of the stone powdering is not eradicated, re-grinding and polishing can only treat the symptoms rather than the root cause, and the phenomenon of powdering may reappear. Therefore, the polished stone must be protected.

    8. Fading

Another type of disease of stone is fading. After a period of use of natural stone, the color gradually begins to fade, and the original bright and bright stone begins to become gray and dark. This is also a common problem with most stones. Therefore, after the various diseases of the stone are cleaned and treated, the faded stone can be colored with a stone colorant to restore its original bright color. In addition, for natural stone with color defects (color difference), coloring can be used to eliminate color difference before installation or during use.
